A New Beginning…

Exciting News! Our community Center is Back! Explore the Community Cafe, Community Closet, Health/Wellness Program, the Community Cupboard and our Youth Program!

History:

  • The building was originally purchased for the Combs Law Center, however there were two years left on the lease of the currently leased building. Because of the two years, the idea of the community center was brought into the light.
  • The center provided a dinner meal everyday and progressed to serving breakfast and dinner.
  • The NE OKC Farmers market started at the NE OKC Community & Cultural Center and we hosted the Festival of the Greens.
  • The center hosted a talent show for the youth.
  • The center tutored and mentored the youth.
  • The Read With Me program was established
  • The center hosted or participated in several events which included:
    • Black History education
    • Annual Easter Event
    • Juneteenth celebration
    • outdoor concerts
  • The center provided bagged grocery items for the community and free clothing
  • The center sponsored and chaperoned children for field trips to the OKC Zoo, Blue Zoo, African American Musem, MLK Parade, Juneteenth, fishing, and movie nights.
